My book entitled Art Revolution hit the stores running in July 2009. In less than a month and a half, it has almost sold out of the first printing! The book has also been on the Nielsen BookScan’s Top Fifty Bestseller list for the past eight weeks in the art category of adult non-fiction.

About

Lisa L. Cyr is an accomplished multidisciplinary artist and author with a content-driven approach. As a recognized artist, Cyr’s highly tactile, mixed-media work is a rhythmic synthesis of drawing, painting, collage, assemblage and sculpture composed to collectively create a new reality with a more expressive, symbolic arrangement. Her expansive visual vernacular and innovative use of alternative materials and approaches transcends mere technique, creating a dynamic pictorial idiom that is not only multidimensional but also multi-sensual.

As an author, Cyr writes for many of the creative industry’s leading trade publications including Communication Arts, Step inside design, How, ID, Alt Pick, Creativity’s Spark, Applied Arts and others. Her articles range from revealing issues that face the creative industry to profiling top talent in the business. Her books, Art Revolution, Innovative Promotions That Work, The Art of Promotion, Brochure Design That Works, Graphic Design That Works and The Little Book of Big Promotions, feature top national and international work with sidebars that explore strategic and innovative thinking. In addition to her writing, Cyr speaks actively about successful promotional strategies, marketing opportunities and entrepreneurial endeavors for the creative industry and gives workshops on innovative, mixed-media techniques at professional organizations, universities and trade conferences across the United States . Her insightful, thought-provoking and highly visual lectures, entitled The Art of Promotion, Creatively Speaking and Reinterpret, Reinvent and Redefine, inform, inspire and motivate. Cyr also teaches in many of the top MFA graduate programs as a lecturer.

A graduate from The Massachusetts College of Art (BFA) and Syracuse University (MA), Cyr’s artistic oeuvre has been exhibited both nationally and internationally in museums, galleries and universities. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines, books and online. In addition, Cyr’s art is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of American Illustration as well as in private collections. She is an artist member of the Society of Illustrators in New York City and works in partnership with her husband Christopher Short, painter and 3D illustrator.
